Learning About Krav Maga’s Technique

As with any hand-to-hand combat system, Krav Maga has its own attitudes and punches. It all starts from the “waiting position” (the body is straightened, the arms are lowered, the feet are parallel to each other, the shoulders are spread wide). There may be several options for the tribune (basic, neutral, for internal or external defense), but in general this is the basic position for most defensive and offensive actions. To find out more about it, go to krav maga training centre toronto.

Movement during the battle is performed with a cross step, step and substep. The first movement consists of a sharp low step, when the far leg overtakes the near one (crossed legs) when moving towards the opponent. The jump step is the exit from the waiting position. The movement is performed by jumping. Finally, a substep means that when moving, the far foot will take the place of the near one (relative to the enemy). Accordingly, the attack begins when the far foot is in place and the near one is already taking the kick.

Strikes in Krav Maga can be straight (moving forward and up), sideways (shooting or half-arch), downwards or to the side ("tapping" varieties) and defensive. In a side impact, the body rotates along the axis to intensify the impact. Defensive strikes are performed like hitting with a horse’s hoof. The main task of a fighter is to learn how to quickly pull the leg after performing the technique. The hands usually perform techniques like hook, uppercut, upright, as well as “hammer” and “chopping”. The hammer is a blow with the lower part of the fist, while chopping is performed with the edge of the palm.

Protection in Krav Maga is divided into internal and external. Externally, it acts on the principle of "inside - out", the repulsive limb (forearm, fist, leg) is directed towards the attacker. The internal defense redirects the opponent's movement by crossing the attacking limb at a right or sharp angle. In addition to punches, other techniques such as twisting, levering and pressing are performed. The latter technique allows you to force the enemy to fall to the ground. At the same time, the fighter himself is strictly forbidden to fall to the ground: standing on his feet at any cost is one of the basic foundations of the Israeli hand-to-hand combat system.

Those planning to study Krav Maga would find it helpful to know that there are no techniques as such in this type of fighting. Instead, a set of actions and tactics that lead to automatism. Bumps, blockages, painful, release from grip - all this is combined into a complex, and often completely individual. Improving your physical fitness will help not only by studying the Krav Maga technique, but also by reviewing your diet. We recommend that you pay attention to the so-called, based on the principle of product compatibility.
