WHY IT’S IMPORTANT FOR YOUR TEENS TO KNOW SELF DEFENSE

With all the talk about cyberbullying and cyberstalking, it’s important to keep one thing in mind: kids can and do get physically attacked.

Don’t get us wrong—we’re huge fans of online safety, and if you have kids you should definitely take steps to protect them from online intimidation
and harassment. (The RCMP has a useful webpage on the topic.)

SELF DEFENSE
But whether contact with a predator or bully is initiated online or offline, there’s a chance your kids might need to defend themselves against a physical attack.

Hopefully, that’ll never happen — but what if it does?

Just last September, a youth was hospitalized after getting beat up by a man armed with a baseball bat.
